Define the part around the press—not around a generic catalogue name.

Continuous-press aftermarket work is highly interface-dependent. Existing-part data, equipment references and maintenance responsibility need to be aligned before an RFQ can become a controlled manufacturing package.

What needs to be defined

  • Drum reference, diameter, width and lining coverage geometry
  • Existing lining segment pattern, thickness and edge details
  • Required friction / wear material basis where specified
  • Bonded, mechanically fixed or combined attachment concept
  • Existing drum surface condition and preparation responsibility

  • Drum or lining drawings and existing part references
  • Measurements, photos and inspection findings from the installed drum
  • Existing lining material data or approved performance requirement
  • Installation method and whether work is planned in-situ or off-line
  • Outage window and responsibility for surface preparation / bonding

  • Fit around actual drum geometry and segmented layout
  • Drum-surface condition before bonding or fixing
  • Joint, edge and transition details between lining segments
  • Field installation, curing / fixing and commissioning responsibility boundaries

  • Packaging and identification by drum / segment location where required

Friction-lining projects should not be reduced to a material-only purchase. Drum geometry, surface preparation, attachment method and field responsibility can be equally important to the replacement scope.
